Exciting Opportunities Await with the UK Market Entry Programme at London Tech Week

The Return of the UK Market Entry Programme

The West Midlands Growth Company (WMGC) is gearing up for the launch of its enticing 2025 Global Growth Programme during London Tech Week. This annual initiative, aimed at attracting high-growth international companies to the UK market, will host a breakfast event on June 11, 2025, at the iconic Shard in London, in collaboration with Warwick Business School.

Over the past two years, this programme has proven to be a cornerstone for companies seeking to establish a foothold in the vibrant West Midlands tech ecosystem. Last year's programme saw 17 businesses create more than 300 jobs, showcasing not only the potential for growth but also the supportive infrastructure available in the region.

This year, 15 new places are open for applications, continuing the programme’s goal of providing tailored support to innovative companies. The fully funded programme spans nine months and is specially designed for tech firms looking to enter the UK market. Participants will enjoy access to fully sponsored workspaces across six innovation hubs in Birmingham, Wolverhampton, and Coventry.

Tailored Support for Growth

Selecting from 20 sector support packages, businesses can receive specialized guidance focused on key areas such as Health Tech, Clean Tech, Digital Tech, and Future Mobility. This structured approach not only optimizes the chances of a successful market entry but ensures companies can align their strategies with local market demands effectively.

WMGC’s commitment to assist international businesses extends beyond mere workspace. They simplify the UK investment process, from helping firms navigate visas to securing suitable accommodations. This comprehensive support system aligns with the mission of WMGC, which is to turn the region into a preferred destination for technology companies.

Partnerships with esteemed organizations such as Innovate UK, Midlands Innovation, and Bruntwood SciTech further enhance the programme's offerings. These partnerships collectively provide access to research and development (R&D) assets and innovation centres, placing participants in a position to succeed.

As part of the breakfast event, attendees will hear firsthand accounts from successful programme alumni. Taras Matselyukh, the CEO of Netherlands-based OPT/NET, will share his journey of setting up a UK presence and the pivotal role that the Global Growth Programme played in his company's strategy. He highlights how Birmingham’s partnerships, significant client prospects, and innovative ecosystems have helped rapidly expand his enterprise.
