SINEXCEL and Partners Unveil Urban Virtual Power Plant Initiative at SNEC 2025

SINEXCEL and Partners Launch Urban Virtual Power Plant Initiative

On June 20, 2025, during the SNEC 2025 conference in Shanghai, SINEXCEL, along with partner companies such as Schneider Electric, Enjoyelec, SZ GISCADA, Cunhui New Energy, and GOOD ENERGY, introduced an ambitious initiative focused on creating a virtual power plant (VPP) ecosystem tailored for urban settings. This initiative is aimed at revolutionizing how cities manage energy by deepening the integration of smart grids, fostering scenario-based innovations, and establishing industry benchmarks. The ultimate goal is to construct extensive citywide ecosystems that enhance energy efficiency, promote intelligent consumption, and facilitate the transition to a carbon-neutral economy.

Highlighting Innovative Solutions

During the event, SINEXCEL also presented its Smart Energy Management Platform and its VPP solution that caters to the holistic energy supply of urban areas. Developed collaboratively with ecosystem partners, this comprehensive solution encompasses an advanced software and hardware architecture capable of harnessing the latest technologies including IoT, cloud computing, big data, and artificial intelligence. These innovations enable a central hub for the entire energy chain—spanning generation, transmission, distribution, storage, and consumption—transforming invisible energy flows into quantifiable and optimizable insights.

Addressing Key Challenges

The next-generation VPP solution introduced by SINEXCEL is designed to tackle several critical challenges faced by existing VPPs, including high operational costs, limited revenue channels, regulatory constraints, and low dispatch accuracy. By employing a principle of 'open aggregation and shared benefits', the solution effectively aggregates a diverse range of decentralized energy resources. This includes wind and solar power plants, energy storage, microgrids, flexible loads, and EV charging facilities, all into a cohesive dispatch platform. Such integration allows for coordinated participation in electricity markets and responsive demand-side management.

Commitment to Future Innovations

Since the foundation of the SINEXCEL Smart Energy Research Institute, the company has taken a leading role in fostering an open, cooperative, and future-oriented innovation ecosystem. By emphasizing the core values of openness, co-creation, and joint talent development, SINEXCEL has successfully attracted a growing network of partners dedicated to reshaping the future of energy. Looking ahead, the company aims to continue driving intelligent energy innovations, enhancing collaboration across ecosystems, and accelerating the transition towards secure, efficient, and carbon-free urban energy systems.

SINEXCEL's Background

Founded in 2007, SINEXCEL is recognized as a pioneer in energy storage, electric vehicle charging, and power quality. With an impressive installed storage capacity of 12 GW, 140,000 EV charging stations, and nearly 20 million amperes of AHF, SINEXCEL collaborates with industry leaders, including EVE Energy and Schneider Electric, to promote energy independence and sustainable solutions.
