DJI, a frontrunner in the drone industry, presented its fourth annual report on agricultural drones at the 2025 Agrishow in São Paulo, Brazil. According to DJI, over 400,000 units of its agricultural drones are currently operational worldwide, marking a staggering 90% increase since 2020. For example, Argentina has eased restrictions concerning drone deployment in agricultural areas, while Spain has streamlined the approval process for agricultural drone usage. Brazil is also setting standards for pilot training, facilitating legal drone operation for various agricultural tasks.

The challenge of drift during pesticide application has been a significant concern for many farmers working with aerial drones as well as ground-based equipment. To address this, DJI Agriculture has refined its nozzle design and aerodynamics for its spraying drones through extensive testing from 2021 to 2024. 3. Vineyard Management in Romania: A vineyard owner successfully halved his chemical usage from 241.64 liters to 111.94 liters by adopting DJI drones for spraying, significantly reducing time spent on treatment from several days to just 2.5 hours.
