Webster First Federal Credit Union Elevates Bryan Regele as Chief Loan Officer
Worcester, MA - In a significant move, Webster First Federal Credit Union recently announced the promotion of Bryan T. Regele to the esteemed position of Senior Vice President and Chief Loan Officer. This ascent marks a pivotal moment for both Regele and the credit union, as he takes over the role previously held by Talat Mufti. Since joining Webster First in 2011, Regele has played an indispensable role in enhancing the organization’s lending operations and has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to member service.
Upon announcing Regele’s promotion, John Thomasian, President and CEO of Webster First, stated, "Bryan's exceptional leadership and dedication to our members continue to uplift the standard of service at Webster First. We are grateful for his commitment and are confident that, in his new role, Bryan will help drive our lending operations to even greater achievements." This confidence is well-placed, considering Regele's impressive track record within the institution.
Regele's journey at Webster First began as a Credit Analyst in Commercial Lending, where he quickly established a reputation for his analytical prowess and strong work ethic. By 2014, he had progressed to a Credit Officer and Junior Commercial Loan Officer, achieving his certificate from the Massachusetts Bankers Association School of Commercial Lending—a testament to his commitment to professional development. This upward trajectory continued when he became Assistant Vice President and Commercial Loan Officer in February 2018.
In 2019, Regele further expanded his skill set by completing the National Association of Federally Insured Credit Unions Management and Leadership Institute program. His ascent culminated in a promotion to Vice President of Commercial Lending and, most recently, he became Senior Vice President of Commercial Lending in 2025, underscoring his exceptional performance and leadership qualities.
Regele’s efforts have not gone unnoticed; in 2024, he received Webster First's inaugural President's Award, celebrating his outstanding contributions to the organization. Under his guidance, the commercial lending department saw unprecedented success, earning recognition as a premier lender by Banker & Tradesman for 2022 and 2023, and achieving the top ranking in Massachusetts for the number of commercial loans in 2025.
As Chief Loan Officer, Regele will oversee all lending divisions and their respective operations, collaborating closely with current leadership during the transition to ensure seamless continuity across all lending functions. "As we enter this new chapter, I am excited about the opportunity to lead our lending teams and drive greater success for our members and the communities we serve," said Regele.
Throughout his tenure, Regele has embodied the core values of Webster First Federal Credit Union, which include financial strength, exceptional service, and a commitment to the local communities. He believes in building strong relationships with members and ensuring that their needs are met while advancing the credit union's objectives.
