About Yanagiya Aoba

Born Takase Sei-ya on July 10, 1989, Yanagiya Aoba is committed to expressing the true humor, charm, and absurdity of traditional rakugo. He has been striving every day to be a 'good rakugo artist' and wishes to remain true to this goal through his performances.

Aoba began his journey in rakugo in June 2014 when he entered the school of the fifth-generation master, Yanagiya Kosen. He officially became a junior performer in May 2015 and achieved the rank of second-generation performer in February 2019.

This annual one-man show reflects Aoba's dedication and passion for the art of rakugo.
