AM Group Partners with Uttar Pradesh Government for AI Compute Hub to Democratize AI

AM Group's Historic Initiative in AI and Energy

The AM Group, a leading energy transition platform backed by the Greenko founders, has recently made headlines with a groundbreaking partnership with the Uttar Pradesh government. This strategic agreement was signed during the World Economic Forum in Davos and emphasizes the establishment of a high-performance AI compute hub with a capacity of 1 gigawatt (GW). The initiative aims to revolutionize the landscape of artificial intelligence (AI) in India, democratizing access to cutting-edge technologies from electronic agents to intelligent tokens.

The Ambitious Project

The AI compute center, slated for construction in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, represents an approximate investment of $25 billion. The project will be rolled out in stages, with the first operational capacity expected by 2028, ultimately reaching the full GW capacity by 2030. This ambitious venture underscores the commitment of the AM Group towards building intelligent, sustainable, and carbon-neutral solutions for the economy, further positioning Uttar Pradesh as India's AI hub.

With the Indian demand for high-performance computing (HPC) growing rapidly, this facility is designed to swiftly meet the needs of large-scale global data centers, cutting-edge laboratories, businesses, and India’s sovereignty initiatives related to AI, all powered by decarbonized energy sources.

Key Features of the AI Center

  • - Scalable Infrastructure: The deployment will occur in phases, starting with operations in 2028 and achieving full capacity by 2030.
  • - Strategic Location: The facility will leverage Uttar Pradesh’s robust industrial corridors and data center-friendly policies to ensure low-latency and highly reliable connectivity for the burgeoning digital markets.
  • - Green Energy Integration: The compute center will rely entirely on renewable energy solutions, including wind, solar, and pumped storage, showcasing AM Group's leadership in sustainable energy practices.

Economic Catalyst

The MoU has the potential to act as a significant economic driver for Uttar Pradesh, fostering a local ecosystem focused on hardware manufacturing, software development, and specialized cooling technologies. This initiative is projected to attract substantial foreign direct investments (FDI) and create thousands of high-skilled jobs in the region.

Anil Chalamalasetty, President of AM Group, highlighted the importance of an intentional, intelligent, and adaptable global AI ecosystem for current and future generations. He emphasized that the AM Group's focus on transforming electronic agents into intelligent tokens is a natural extension of their technology-driven operations as they strive for innovative physical AI solutions.

Mahesh Kolli, Director of the AM Group, added that combining 1 GW of computing power with continuous green energy solutions not only entails building a data center but also creating a sustainable model for the future of global AI infrastructure with the backing of Uttar Pradesh.

AM Group's Vision

AM Group is supported by the Greenko founders, recognized as a leading conglomerate in the renewable energy sector. The group's objectives include constructing differentiated platforms based on molecules, materials, and AI technologies aimed at promoting industrial decarbonization and large-scale competitive tokenization.

With an existing presence in over 20 states through solar, wind, hydro, and energy storage projects, Greenko is poised to expand its energy infrastructure up to 50 GW. The company is also constructing the world's first interconnected energy storage solution with a storage capacity of 100 GWh across India. Furthermore, AM Group is undertaking low-carbon ammonia production projects across multiple sites, aiming to generate 5 million tons of green ammonia annually, supporting global decarbonization goals.

In pursuit of zero net-emission capabilities, the group is also focused on producing green caustic soda, e-methanol, and sustainable aviation fuels, thereby targeting industries with challenging emission reductions.

The new AI compute hub stands as a remarkable step in the merging of technology with renewable energy, framing a vision for a sustainable and innovative future in India’s evolving digital economy.
