Scouting America's New Initiative: Impact365
Scouting America has officially launched
Impact365, a dynamic multi-year national service program dedicated to encouraging Scouts and their families to engage in problem-solving for their communities. Announced on February 4, 2026, this initiative aligns itself with the
America250 campaign, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States, and is bolstered by funding from
Lilly Endowment Inc..
Vision and Purpose
The primary goal of Impact365 is to prepare young individuals for lives filled with purpose, impact, and character through community service. The program's launch coincided with Scouting America's birthday weekend, marking a significant moment for the organization as it embarks on an ambitious journey to empower the next generation.
Roger Krone, President and CEO of Scouting America, stated, "We're building a movement where young people will do their part to make a difference in their communities. Impact365 is our ambitious path forward." Through hands-on service opportunities, participants will not only learn essential values like honor and teamwork but also contribute tangible benefits to their communities.
The Three Core Pillars of Impact365
Impact365 is built upon three foundational pillars:
1.
Character Building: By participating in various hands-on service and leadership activities, Scouts will discover their strengths, foster meaningful contributions, and gain the confidence to lead respectfully and kindly.
2.
Civic Responsibility: Involvement in service projects that address genuine community needs encourages Scouts to become engaged citizens who take proactive steps towards making a difference.
3.
Community Impact: The program aims to mobilize youth, families, and volunteers to create measurable positive changes across communities nationwide, highlighting the impact of collective service efforts.
Measurable Outcomes
Impact365 is set to achieve over
eight million service hours in its pursuit of community betterment. These hours will not only be tracked and verified but also celebrated, ensuring that the collective efforts of young people are recognized and valued by families, partners, and civic leaders.
Krone highlighted, "Our vision is a nation where every young person is prepared for a life of purpose and impact, guided by strong character and a commitment to serving others." The essence of this program resonates with Scouting's legacy of over
115 years, during which it has trained more than
130 million youth into responsible leaders and community champions.
A Call to Action
Impact365 represents more than a program; it is an open invitation for Scouts, families, and community members to unite in this movement focused on service. Krone expressed enthusiasm for what is possible when young people take charge: "It’s an invitation to every Scout, every family, and every community member to join a service-first movement that builds character, drives community impact, and demonstrates what happens when young people lead."
