Children's Workshop at Haseko Mansion Museum: Crafting Keychains with Recycled Wood

Children's Workshop at Haseko Mansion Museum: A Creative Experience

From August 20th to 22nd, 2026, the Haseko Mansion Museum, located in Tama City, Tokyo, hosted an engaging three-day workshop tailored for children. This event brought together 31 families, accounting for 87 participants in total, including 48 children eager to learn and create.

The workshop focused on utilizing unused wood provided by Haseko Group’s Wood Friends company, offering youngsters the chance to craft their very own original keychains. This hands-on activity promoted not only fun but also important lessons about the value of resources and sustainability. Participants had the opportunity to learn the joy of making things with their hands, which sparked creativity and encouraged a sense of responsibility towards resource use.

Additionally, the museum featured a permanent display of cutting-edge technologies such as the androids MOMO and Asukaroid, originally showcased at the Osaka-Kansai Expo. This exhibition served as an open forum for participants to ponder the relationship between humanity and technology, allowing them to envision the future of living spaces and society as a whole.

Another participant, who has joined the workshop annually, shared, "I find new discoveries each time I attend, and it's always enjoyable!" One parent added, "The displays exceeded my expectations, and they reminded me of the Osaka-Kansai Expo, which was quite emotional for me."

Haseko Corporation remains committed to fostering community and societal engagement.
