Enhancing Creative Thinking Skills for Future Leaders at Musashino Art University

Unlocking Creative Potential at Musashino Art University

Musashino Art University, located in Koganei, Tokyo, is dedicated to fostering creative thinking skills through its innovative Value Creation Program (VCP). The university, thriving for over 90 years, is now calling for applicants for the 5th term of its successful program, which started in November 2022 and has received widespread acclaim.

In today's complex and unpredictable society, it's crucial to look beyond conventional problem-solving methods. The VCP is designed to cultivate strong creative thinking abilities that extend beyond the boundaries of art and design fields. Participants will learn to identify problems, view them from new perspectives, and implement socially impactful solutions.

The VCP School aims to equip individuals with essential skills to thrive in business and society. The curriculum focuses on observational, critical, and conceptual thinking skills that empower individuals to engage effectively with others and generate value in times of change.

The program is based on the Creative Leadership Course at the Graduate School of Arts and involves problem-based learning (PBL). Over a immersive ten-day period, participants will acquire the insights and practical knowledge necessary to create new business ventures and address social issues.

In a significant update for the 2023 academic year, the program has been certified as a specified general educational training course by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. This certification allows participants to receive up to 40% of the course costs reimbursed through job placement centers, given they meet certain conditions and complete the required processes.
