Huawei Presentation of Six Global Energy Showcases at HUAWEI CONNECT 2026

Huawei Presents Six Global Energy Showcases

At the recent HUAWEI CONNECT 2026 event, Huawei unveiled its initiative titled "AI × Energy: Unlocking a New Power System" during the 2026 Global Electric Power Summit. This significant gathering brought together over 600 stakeholders from global energy companies, industry organizations, ecosystem partners, and the media, all focused on exploring innovative ways to integrate energy transformation with digital and smart technologies.

The summit also featured the introduction of six energy showcase stands, developed in collaboration with international energy corporations. These stands illustrated end-to-end digital and smart transformation applications, spanning from energy production to consumption, and from domestic to international markets. This initiative marks a pivotal shift in the energy sector from mere support to a synergy powered by computational capabilities.

The global energy sector is presently undergoing a profound transformation. With the increasing significance of distributed renewable energy, establishing a balance between grid stability and universal electricity access has emerged as a critical challenge, especially to reduce external dependencies.

"Energy transformation, accompanied by Artificial Intelligence Data Centers (AIDCs) and digitization, is undergoing a substantial change within the electric sector," stated Philippe Adam, Secretary General of the International Council on Large Electric Systems (CIGRE). The transition to renewable energy is confronting intertwined challenges, such as smart transformation and the reality that over 700 million people globally lack access to electricity. Under these circumstances, Artificial Intelligence has become an indispensable factor for the survival of the century-old energy system, providing solutions for low voltage management, identified as the primary bottleneck in electric networks.

David Sun, CEO of Huawei's Digital Power Business Unit (BU), emphasized that low voltage transparency is crucial: "The essence of low voltage transparency lies in faster data, higher quality, and greater cost efficiency. To realize a new energy system, the energy sector must focus on three key priorities: digital capabilities, digital infrastructure, and a digital regulated asset base (RAB)."

Showcasing Global Best Practices

During the summit, Huawei presented six exemplary global case studies that emphasize the success of digital and smart transformation:
1. Brazil's CEMIG: Showcasing its innovative digital and smart grid initiatives.
2. Guangzhou Baiyun Electric Supply Bureau: Highlighting synergies in distribution and microgrid systems as part of its new electrical system showcase linked to the China Southern Power Grid.
3. Shaoshan's New Power Distribution Network: Featuring smart diagnostics and operational systems, situated in Hunan Province, China.
4. Smart Electricity Supply and Consumption in Jiangxi Province, China.
5. ±800 kV UHV Digital Converter Station: Located in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, illustrating advanced energy conversion techniques.
6. Electric Communication Network in Liaoning Province, China: Demonstrating effective communication solutions for electrical systems.

Together, these case studies present a comprehensive overview of successful implementations across various scenarios in the smart age, outlining the full scope of the energy process.

Looking ahead, Huawei is committed to continuing its focus on its strengths in Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The company aims to promote innovation through a three-layered framework comprising metrics, architectures, and technologies, while collaborating with global energy entities, standard organizations, and ecosystem partners. This initiative is poised to enhance the sector's development and contribute to the overall well-being of the ecosystem.
