CEC and Sony Semiconductor Solutions Launch Logistics DX Collaboration

CEC and Sony Semiconductor Solutions Begin Collaboration in Logistics DX

CEC (Tech headquarters: Shibuya, Tokyo) has announced a collaboration with Sony Semiconductor Solutions (headquarters: Atsugi, Kanagawa) to integrate their solutions for the logistics industry. This partnership focuses on enhancing logistics efficiency through the integration of SSS's edge AI sensing platform, AITRIOS, and CEC's ICT solution, LogiPull.

The initial phase of this collaboration involves creating a dock management system that automatically collects waiting and loading/unloading times, effectively complying with the industry rule to limit loading times to two hours. The dock management system, which integrates AITRIOS with LogiPull, will officially launch on September 4.

CEC aims to supply this advanced dock management system to logistics companies of all sizes, targeting an ambitious sales goal of 3 billion yen by 2030.

Background of the Collaboration

For over 20 years, CEC has been providing systems to support the logistics industry's growth. Recently, the company has actively worked to address the pressing social issue of extended working hours for truck drivers by selling the LogiPull dock management system to streamline operations across various logistics environments. On the other hand, SSS leverages its expertise in image sensors to offer an edge AI sensing platform, AITRIOS, which covers solutions from edge devices to the cloud.

By combining their technologies, CEC and SSS aim to drive digital transformation (DX) in logistics and manufacturing sectors. As of April 2024, regulations will be implemented that restrict working hours in the logistics industry, requiring shippers to ensure loading times remain under two hours, thereby necessitating accurate monitoring of operations.

The integration of LogiPull and AITRIOS allows for cost-effective and high-performance AI cameras to automatically and accurately log loading and unloading times, ultimately contributing to reduced waiting times and improved operational efficiency.

Solution Features

  • - Visualizing the Truck Flow: The dock management system captures truck license plates upon arrival and departure using AITRIOS's advanced AI camera technology.
  • - Automatic Data Collection: The AITRIOS platform automatically records waiting and loading/unloading times, preventing data entry errors and miscommunication, thus shortening unnecessary waiting periods for truck drivers.
  • - Customizable Operations: The system can be introduced in standard packages for smaller environments or customized through systems integration for larger operations, accommodating logistics companies of all sizes.

  • - Release Date: September 4, 2025
  • - Initial Cost (Excl. Tax): 1,058,400 JPY (includes 4 cameras, communication setup, and LogiPull license)
  • - Monthly Cost (Excl. Tax): 178,400 JPY

For detailed pricing adjustments and customization options, inquiries can be made directly to CEC.

Future Directions for CEC and SSS

CEC is also developing a manufacturing DX solution, VR+R, and anticipates future collaborations with SSS for additional solutions utilizing AITRIOS. The focus will also extend beyond logistics and manufacturing to foster a "safe and secure" society using AITRIOS.

Marketing Initiatives and Exhibitions

Both companies plan to advance their partnership in marketing initiatives, including market research, solution linkage, and promotional activities. A part of this collaboration will be showcased at the International Logistics Expo 2025 - 4th INNOVATION EXPO, where they will demonstrate the dock management system powered by LogiPull and AITRIOS.
