KEL Corporation Introduces the FG Series Drawer Connectors
KEL Corporation, headquartered in Tama City, Tokyo, under the leadership of President Akira Kasuga, has officially launched its latest innovation: the
FG Series, a range of 50A drawer connectors ideal for high-current applications. This new product caters specifically to the needs of connecting equipment batteries with the main units effectively and safely.
Overview of the FG Series Connectors
The FG Series connectors boast several advanced features designed for optimum performance:
- - Each power terminal can handle a maximum current of 50A, ensuring reliability for high-voltage applications.
- - By integrating two power terminals and six signal terminals into a single connector, KEL has successfully minimized the space requirement without sacrificing functionality.
- - A multi-point contact structure prevents buckling of the contacts, leading to increased reliability through stable contact force. Specifically, the power terminals have eight contact points, while signal terminals have two.
- - The connectors are equipped with a guiding mechanism that accommodates insertion errors by as much as ±3.5mm in the X direction and ±2.8mm in the Y direction, resulting in enhanced user experience during installation.
- - The design includes movable screw sections on the plug connector side, which allows for absorption in the XY directions of up to ±0.7mm, helping to facilitate easier connections.
- - Both the power terminal and signal terminal have effective mating lengths of 3.0mm and 2.4mm respectively, contributing to a high-reliability design that mitigates timing-related contact issues.
