Introduction to Tokyu Association's Activities



The Tokyu Group continues to engage with local communities through various initiatives across Japan. The Tokyu Association, which is made up of multiple companies under the Tokyu Group, actively participates in activities aimed at cultural arts, sports promotion, and environmental conservation. As we report on the June 2023 activities, we can see the commitment to creating a brand loved by the community. This month, we will highlight two districts: the Tama Tokyu Association and the Shizuoka Tokyu Association.

Activities Overview in May 2023


In May, six activities were carried out to promote sports and environmental awareness. Notably, the Tama Tokyu Association hosted the “TOKYU MUSIC PROGRAM – Children's Day Blue Sky Stage”. Meanwhile, the Shizuoka Tokyu Association organized a cleaning campaign ahead of the Kurofune Matsuri, a major festival in Shimoda.

Tama Tokyu Association – Children’s Day Blue Sky Stage


On May 5th, the Tama Tokyu Association organized the TOKYU MUSIC PROGRAM as part of the 41st Kichijoji Music Festival. This exciting event featured performances from children ranging from kindergarten through high school. Participants showcased their talents through dance, instrument playing, and singing, providing a wonderful platform for creativity and enjoyment.

  • - Participants: Approximately 200 people

The weather was favorable, allowing not only families of the performers but also passersby to enjoy the performances. The variety of acts included playful dances by kindergarten groups, energetic dance performances, singing, and even hula dance. Participants expressed their joy at being able to perform and engage with the audience, indicating how significant this experience was for them.

“Collaborating with the Kichijoji Music Festival, we created an opportunity for children to present their work across different artistic genres. Despite initial concerns about the organization, the event turned out successful, with many people stopping to watch. Shizuoka Tokyu Association – Cleaning Campaign Prior to Kurofune Matsuri


On May 11th, the Shizuoka Tokyu Association conducted a cleaning campaign in Shimoda ahead of the Kurofune Matsuri, which celebrates the arrival of Commodore Perry and the opening of Japan. This cleaning effort occurs annually to ensure visitors have a pleasant experience.

Participants, wearing Tokyu Association vests, were divided into teams to clean the parade route and the area around the ceremony venue at Shimoda Park. The collected garbage was disposed of responsibly at the local clean center, thanks to the cooperation of the Shimoda City Environmental Measures Division.

“This year's cleaning campaign attracted 86 participants, including members from different Tokyu districts. We implemented measures for heat prevention during the high temperatures and successfully collected a significant amount of waste, reinforcing our commitment to environmental beautification.” – Sakuya Terashita, Izu Kyuko Holdings.

Spotlight on the Saitama-Tochigi Tokyu Association


As part of our monthly showcase of various Tokyu Associations, this month we highlight the Saitama-Tochigi Tokyu Association, consisting of seven affiliated companies. They continue community engagement through events and nature preservation initiatives, including the Akhamatsu Forest Project, which fosters breeding habitats for the Ootaka.

Looking ahead to next month, several Tokyu Associations plan diverse initiatives focusing on local engagement:

  • - Kansai Tokyu: 18th Parent-Child Nature Experience Tour on July 18-19.
  • - Kagawa Tokyu: Project 15’s presentation on July 20.
  • - Yokohama Tokyu: 29th Children’s Futsal Clinic on July 25.
