The ALTA Good Deeds Foundation, a charitable entity established by the American Land Title Association (ALTA), has made a significant impact in 2026 by distributing $126,000 in grants to 21 local nonprofit organizations throughout the United States. Each selected organization received $6,000, aimed at reinforcing their local initiatives that promote housing opportunities and community development.
This announcement was made during ALTA EDge, the association's spring conference held in Frisco, Texas. The foundation's commitment to local communities is underlined by its focus on supporting nonprofits that provide essential services including housing assistance, food relief, youth programs, and general community development.
Steve Day NTP, chair of the ALTA Good Deeds Foundation, expressed the deep devotion of the title insurance sector to community enhancement. He stated, "These grants reflect our industry's strong belief in giving back, as we strive to uplift organizations dedicated to making meaningful contributions in their communities."
Among the recipients of the grants are diverse organizations such as:
- - The Assistance Center of Colin County in Plano, Texas
- - Boys & Girls Club of Salem in Salem, Oregon
- - Connect Community Village Inc. in Somerset, Kentucky
- - Food Pantry in Tool, Texas
- - Thrive With Autism Foundation in Magnolia, Texas
These nonprofits were nominated by ALTA members who recognize the vital work being done at the grassroots level. As Chris Morton, CEO of ALTA, highlighted, the foundation exemplifies the charity and civic duty present within the title insurance industry. He stated, “Every day, title professionals operate behind the scenes to assist families in attaining homeownership, and through the foundation, we also support initiatives that fortify communities and transform lives.”
Established in 2020, the ALTA Good Deeds Foundation has granted nearly $1.5 million to nearly 47 states and the District of Columbia. The foundation's mission is to empower nonprofit organizations that kindle housing stability and reinforce families.
