Connell Company Marks Significant Milestone with Topping Out Ceremony of New Luxury Tower in Berkeley Heights

Connell Company Marks a New Era in Berkeley Heights with Topping Out Ceremony

On July 10, 2025, The Connell Company held a grand Topping Out ceremony for RT500, a luxury residential tower that will elevate the living experience in Berkeley Heights. This eleven-story building, set to contain a total of 179 apartments, is a key part of the ambitious redevelopment of The Park, designed to offer a comprehensive lifestyle destination for its residents.

The event represents a significant milestone not only for the tower but also for the vision behind The Park, which aims to create a harmonious blend of living, working, entertaining, and relaxation spaces. Shane Connell, Executive Vice President of The Connell Company, expressed his excitement: “We’re thrilled to take steps closer to bringing our vision of what The Park could be to reality and we are truly excited for the momentum that we’re continuing to build here.”

A Closer Look at RT500

Designed by Minno Wasko Architects and Planners, in collaboration with David M. Sullivan Inc, RT500 will boast modern finishes throughout, including floor-to-ceiling windows, contemporary quartz countertops, and warm wood plank flooring. Residents will have access to a host of resort-style amenities, including an outdoor pool, entertainment lounge, game room featuring multi-sport simulators, a pool table, a ping pong table, and a state-of-the-art fitness center.

In addition to the amenities located within the building, residents will be part of a vibrant community enriched by new dining options, entertainment venues, and lifestyle spaces that are taking shape at The Park. This comprehensive approach focuses on creating a vibrant living experience that caters to various lifestyles.

The Vision for The Park

Dubbed New Jersey's first 'work resort,' The Park is home to over 1.5 million square feet of Class A office space occupied by major companies like Samsung, L'Oreal, and Aon. The Park's existing facilities include a 176-room Embassy Suites hotel, FIELDHOUSE, a luxury fitness center, and a range of culinary spots, including Grain Cane Restaurant and Starbucks. Outdoor walking and jogging trails complement the community’s emphasis on wellness and leisure.

John Dionis, Managing Director of Real Estate and Development at The Connell Company, emphasized the demand for hospitality-driven residential spaces like RT500. He stated, “There’s strong demand for hospitality-driven residential buildings like this—especially supported by a thoughtful mix of culinary experiences, green spaces, and retail, all within a vibrant, walkable community.”

With further developments on the horizon, including The District at The Park—which will introduce 328 apartments alongside 185,000 square feet of dining and retail options—the entire campus is set to emerge as a dynamic and unified destination.

What’s Next for RT500

RT500 is scheduled to open its doors in Summer 2026, with leasing opportunities beginning early next year. This development signifies Connell Company’s commitment to not just real estate but to shaping a community that reflects a modern yet comfortable lifestyle. For prospective residents and interested parties, more information about The Park can be found at The Park’s official website.

As The Connell Company begins this new chapter, it underscores the importance of thoughtful planning and execution in creating spaces that transcend traditional living and encompass a lifestyle centered around convenience, community, and comfort. This project stands as a testament to the evolving landscape of residential living in suburban New Jersey.
