Kyoritsu Maintenance and Tohoku Gakuin University Team Up to Enhance International Student Living

Partnership Announcement: Kyoritsu Maintenance & Tohoku Gakuin University

Kyoritsu Maintenance, a leading provider of student and employee dormitories in Japan, has officially partnered with Tohoku Gakuin University to establish an international exchange dormitory named TG Global House. The partnership was sealed during a signing ceremony held at the university's Gohyakubashi campus on July 2, 2026. This collaboration marks a significant step toward enhancing the living conditions and fostering cultural exchange among students.

Importance of Safe Living Spaces

In recent years, the value of safe living environments for students has gained increasing recognition. Dormitories play a crucial role as spaces where diverse values are exchanged and social interaction is cultivated. Aiming to create a multicultural learning environment, Kyoritsu Maintenance resonates with Tohoku Gakuin University's goal of nurturing global talents through this new initiative.

The TG Global House will not only serve as a living space but will also provide extensive support systems utilizing Kyoritsu's long-standing operational expertise. This collaboration aims to elevate the quality of student life while promoting internationalization at Tohoku Gakuin University.

Overview of the TG Global House

Amenities and Facilities

The newly constructed dormitory, TG Global House, was named after two resident assistants (RAs) who have supported international students. It stands just a five-minute walk from the Gohyakubashi campus and boasts seven stories, comprising 120 rooms—40 designated for international students and 80 for domestic students. To facilitate continuous intercultural exchange, the dormitory encourages daily interactions among students of various nationalities.

Economic support in the form of a 20,000 JPY monthly rent subsidy provided by the university will significantly aid eligible students. Recruitment for residents began on July 2, 2026.

Key Value Propositions of the Partnership

1. Cultivating a Multicultural Community: A third of the residents will be international students, fostering a rich community. The RA Program will promote events such as welcome parties and community service, ensuring cultural understanding and reducing language barriers among students.
2. Safety and Wellbeing: The dormitory will offer nutritious, home-cooked meals six days a week, overseen by a registered dietitian. Moreover, the resident couple managing the dormitory will create a secure environment for all students, especially those living independently for the first time.
3. Enhanced Academic Environment: Proximity to the campus will minimize commute times, while each room features a mini-kitchen, private bathrooms, and other necessary furniture. This design will allow students to focus more effectively on their studies.
