HATTRICK and Kashiwa Reysol Unite for Sustainable Upcycling

In an innovative move to promote sustainability, HATTRICK, the sports team auction platform operated by Valuence Japan, has partnered with Kashiwa Reysol, a professional soccer club located in Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture. The collaboration launches the "Kashiwa Reysol Sustainable Upcycle Auction," which aims to turn used match uniforms into fashionable shoulder bags.

The Project Overview

The auction will be conducted in two phases: Vol.1 begins on May 20, 2025, while Vol.2 starts on May 28, 2025. Fans will have the opportunity to bid on these unique bags crafted from the team’s home and away uniform pants from the 2024 season.

Primarily designed for the soccer field, these uniforms would typically be disposed of at the end of the season. However, through this upcycling strategy, they are repurposed into new, valuable products that not only reduce waste but also contribute positively to the community and environment.

Why Upcycling?

Upcycling transforms materials that might otherwise be discarded into new, high-quality items. This project not only reduces landfill waste but also encourages a circular economy, embodying the principles of sustainability. Kashiwa Reysol aims to engage with its local municipality and corporate sponsors in environmentally-conscious practices within stadium operations. Similarly, HATTRICK has been championing upcycling initiatives across various sectors in collaboration with artists, film companies, and sports teams.

By converting uniform pants into functional bags, the auction provides fans a unique way to connect with their team while supporting a sustainable initiative. Each bag is designed to be stylish yet practical, sized approximately 25cm in width and 20cm in height, made from durable polyester material.
