A prominent player in this industry, Chuang Song Zong, a company with a rich history spanning over 150 years, is noted for producing NRICM101, which is currently exported to markets like Singapore and Thailand. The company additionally offers classic TCM products in nations such as Switzerland, along with customized OEM/ECM TCM products and nutritional supplements.

Meanwhile, Li Kang Biotech is taking NRICM101 and NRICM201 to an international audience, alongside an extensive range of products that includes teas, herbal granules, dietary supplements, and topical remedies. With its GMP certification, Li Kang is also entering overseas markets, showcasing its commitment to quality and innovation in the TCM sector.

In the wake of the pandemic, the collaboration amongst Taiwanese TCM manufacturers has been remarkable. Yung-Ning Chan, president of Timing Pharmaceutical, reflected on the collective effort during these challenging times: “We all worked day and night as part of the national team to meet the urgent demand domestically and internationally.” The company is also expanding its offerings to include K-Cup herbal capsules and topical sprays.

Taiwan Three Mast stands out as a specialist in pain relief, modernizing traditional remedies with water-based medical patches and functional herbal tablets tailored for everyday use. Grape King Bio blends TCM herbal recipes with biotechnological innovations, creating dietary supplements that bolster immune health and enhance metabolism.

Dr. Yi-Chang Su, director of the Department of Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy (DCMP) and NRICM, emphasizes the potential role of traditional medicine within contemporary health care when it is backed by scientific validation. As Dr. Su mentions, "Taiwan has demonstrated how traditional medicine can intertwine with modern healthcare solutions when it is scientifically substantiated."
