It focuses on producing critical components like dimethyl carbonate (DMC) and ethyl methyl carbonate (EMC), vital for lithium-ion batteries and semiconductor production. The construction will see Gray offering architecture, construction, and engineering services, which include provision for modular, open-air chemical processing facilities. Notably, Japan's Morimatsu will contribute by manufacturing the processing modules.

Moreover, over 1,800 helical piles will be required for deep foundations along with an impressive 6,400 metric tons of steel to ensure structural integrity. This facility is set to feature advanced amenities such as a 34,000 gallons per minute (GPM) cooling tower, integrated onsite wastewater management systems, waste gas treatment, and specialized fire protection measures.

The establishment of the UBE facility is predicted to create approximately 50 to 60 skilled jobs while generating over 400 employment opportunities on-site at peak construction times.
