Appotronics Elevates Closing Ceremony with Laser Technology
In a groundbreaking display of technology and artistry, Appotronics (688007.SH) showcased its state-of-the-art Quasar laser searchlight at the closing ceremony of the 15th National Games of China, held in Shenzhen. This event marked a significant milestone as it was the first time the games were staged on a coastal platform, presenting unique challenges for stage lighting. Appotronics’ innovative technology not only captured the grandeur of the celebration but also set the stage for its international debut at the upcoming Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2026.
A Technological Marvel in Unmatched Conditions
The closing ceremony unfolded in front of a stunning coastal backdrop, introducing four key challenges for the lighting designers involved. The Quasar laser searchlight had to excel in extreme brightness and color saturation requirements, combat urban light pollution, facilitate long-distance setups, and withstand the rigors of an outdoor coastal environment prone to adverse weather conditions. The Quasar series emerged as the clear victor in meeting these demanding criteria.
Utilizing a pure laser light source allowed the Quasar to sidestep color filters that often reduce brightness and color purity in conventional lighting systems. Its high-precision 16-bit color mixing engine can produce over 16.77 million colors, providing a vibrant spectrum essential for artistic expression. Notably, the Quasar’s ability to deliver a rich, high-saturation red was a standout feature, accomplishing what traditional systems often struggle with.
Boasting an impressive brightness level of 60,000 lux at 100 meters and effective visibility over distances of up to 10 kilometers, the Quasar is designed to dazzle even in the most illuminated urban settings. Its robust design, featuring an IP66 rating, ensures dependable operation in a temperature range from -40°C to 40°C, providing piece of mind for outdoor events.
Setting a Global Stage
The growing interest in large-scale cultural events has catalyzed demand for advanced lighting solutions. As noted by Zhang Feng, General Manager of Appotronics’ Professional Display Business Unit, the Quasar laser searchlight symbolizes a strategic maneuver into the professional lighting market.
“With its introduction, we aim to not only enhance our competitive edge domestically but also embark on a journey toward global markets,” Zhang emphasized.
The Quasar's launch at the ISE 2026 will be pivotal, as it is expected to attract international clients and stimulate discussions around global partnerships. Appotronics intends to continue innovating by developing a series of laser beam lights in conjunction with leveraging AI technology to streamline lighting design, programming, and operational efficiency.
