Kobayashi Yoshie expressed her excitement by stating, "朗独劇 is based on my real-life experiences. The piece was developed after Katsu Shige from Fukushima attended a reading workshop I conducted in my hometown, Yuki City in Ibaraki Prefecture, and encouraged me to turn it into a solo theatrical piece. Starting from Tokyo and moving on to perform in Sapporo, Furano, and Yuki City, it has been enjoyed by many. I’m thrilled to present this alongside 'Surprise' in the comedic city of Asakusa! We hope to see many attendees there to support us!"

Asakura Shinji shared, "During the wrap party for ‘朗独劇’ in 2024, I casually said, 'I might want to try a solo performance too.' Katsu Shige immediately jumped on the idea, and a year later, ‘Surprise’ was born. Hearing laughter from the audience during performances and receiving commendations afterwards made me realize that speaking up in that moment was worthwhile. Now, in 2026, I warmly invite everyone to enjoy our solo comedy double bill!"

Synopsis

朗独劇 (Solo Drama): This heartwarming comedic story revolves around actress Honda Ryoei from Yuki City, Ibaraki Prefecture. She is approached by her classmate Michiko, who works for the local government, to help with community revitalization by conducting a reading workshop. The whimsical personalities of the workshop participants bring a delightful chaos as they prepare for a presentation a month later, and the story unfolds, exploring the humorous interactions between the instructor and students.

サプライズ (Surprise): Set against the backdrop of the heartwarming emotions surrounding weddings, Sawada Kohei finds himself captivated by an emotional YouTube video depicting a father playing the piano at his daughter’s wedding. Inspired, Kohei faces a poignant moment as he learns that his own daughter is getting married. The situation strikes a chord within him, compelling him to step out of his comfort zone, leading to a passionate journey where he endeavors to achieve his own wedding surprise for his beloved daughter.
