Special Announcement: Miyata Kohei at THE FUTURE X 2026
Mark your calendars for March 10, 2026, as Billboard Live TOKYO in Roppongi will host a unique conference entitled "THE FUTURE X 2026," presented by the venture capital firm, THE SEED. This year's event features an exciting special performance by the innovative artist, Miyata Kohei.
The Essence of THE FUTURE X
This annual conference aims to create an environment where dialogue and improvisation can flourish. By utilizing the iconic venue, Billboard Live TOKYO, the event organizers hopes to foster a dynamic interaction among speakers and attendees. Attendees are encouraged to immerse themselves in the rhythms of music and space, breaking the conventional one-way listening dynamic to create moments of spontaneous connection and engagement.
As we witness the rapid advancement of technology, it becomes crucial to ponder fundamental questions about humanity and embodied experiences. In this context, the presence of Miyata Kohei adds a compelling layer to our exploration.
Why Miyata Kohei?
THE SEED has continuously invested in "young talents" across various sectors, mainly focusing on promising entrepreneurs. However, as the landscape evolves, so too does the essence and ambitions of emerging talents. In today's technological climate, the inquiry into the nature of humanity has deepened, leading to an organic connection with Miyata Kohei and his artistic vision.
Miyata Kohei, now 26, began playing the piano at the age of two and the cello at three, encouraged by his musical parents. Rather than confining himself to classical music, he has chosen to forge his own path, exemplifying the entrepreneurial spirit that resonates with THE SEED's mission. His performances embody a strong, expressive quality that captivates audiences and evokes genuine emotional responses.
Everything in our economy originates from the relationships between people, strengthened by trust and empathy. These emotions stem from our core instincts, often manifesting before rational thought. This year's theme, "BACK TO THE ROOTS," encourages us to return to these fundamental connections.
Through Miyata Kohei's improvisational live performance, the goal is to start with sensory experiences. This initial feeling can lead to meaningful dialogues, establishing deeper relationships and fostering a vibrant atmosphere for collaboration.
We invite you to be part of this transformative session.
Meet Miyata Kohei - The "Rebel of Classical Music"
Born in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture in 1999, Miyata Kohei's musical journey is impressive. He began music under the guidance of his mother, a pianist, and his father, a cellist. Growing up in an artistic environment, he developed a passion for music that extends beyond classical boundaries.
Miyata has honed his unique style through studies in Australia, merging various genres, earning him the title of the “Rebel of Classical Music.” He made history at Tokyo University of the Arts by performing a jazz piece for his graduation, marking a significant shift in the institution's traditional approach.
Currently, as a "music designer," Miyata expresses human emotions and ideas not through words but through sound. He has conducted over 260 performances, collaborating with diverse fields including fashion, dance, and martial arts.
Collaborating Artist: Butter
Joining Miyata is the versatile artist BUTTER, a keyboardist whose sound resonates deeply with people's emotions. Not only is he a skilled musician, but he also excels as a web engineer, striving to create new value through the intersection of music and technology. Alongside Miyata, Butter co-founded "blackadder LLC," aiming to bridge the gap between emotion and logic in music.
