Honoring Our Everyday Heroes: First Responders Day at the New York Auto Show

Celebrating Courage: First Responders Day at the NY Auto Show

The New York International Auto Show is set to honor the bravery and dedication of first responders with a special event slated for April 8, 2026. Taking place at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in Manhattan, the First Responders Appreciation Day aims to recognize those who serve tirelessly on the front lines.

This initiative extends complimentary admission to all active and retired firefighters, law enforcement officers, and EMS personnel, expressing gratitude for their invaluable contributions to our communities. Additionally, first responders can purchase discounted tickets for up to six family members, allowing them to enjoy a day of family fun amidst the excitement of the auto show.

The relationship between the auto show and first responders has deepened significantly in recent years, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association, which organizes the event, made a notable impact by donating one million face masks to support frontline workers throughout the city. In 2025, the auto show established First Responders Appreciation Day as a lasting recognition of their sacrifices.

The 2026 First Responders Appreciation Day will operate from 10 AM to 7 PM, providing these everyday heroes with the opportunity to explore nearly 1,000 of the latest car models, experience advanced automotive technologies, and engage with various interactive exhibits. Attendees will also have access to popular indoor and outdoor test tracks, immersive displays, and family-friendly activities, ensuring a fun-filled day for all.

“First responders are the backbone of our communities,” remarked Mark Schienberg, president of the New York Auto Show. “This day symbolizes our appreciation for their courage, commitment, and sacrifice shown every day.”

To avail themselves of this unique offer, first responders are required to present a valid ID or badge upon entering the venue. Family member tickets at discounted rates must be purchased on-site at the same time as entry. Here are the ticket details available only on the day:
  • - First Responders: Complimentary Admission
  • - Family Members: $11 for adults (discounted) and $7 for children (discounted)
  • - Limit: Up to six family member tickets per first responder.

The New York Auto Show runs from April 3 to April 12, 2026, continuing its legacy as North America's oldest and largest-attended auto show since 1900. This event is not only the best place to discover the latest innovations in the auto industry but also a significant occasion to honor those who keep our communities safe. Don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate our heroes while experiencing cutting-edge automotive designs and technologies.
