Supporting Farming Recovery Efforts in the Noto Region
In the aftermath of the devastating earthquakes and floods that struck the Noto region, the Pal System Group is taking concrete action to assist with recovery efforts. Comprising various cooperative organizations and related companies, the group, headquartered in Shinjuku, Tokyo, has organized the deployment of a total of 43 staff members from April to October to support local agricultural activities.
Objectives of the Support Activities
The primary goal of this initiative is to help local farmers restore their rice cultivation efforts, particularly in the terraced rice paddies that have suffered due to recent natural disasters. Collaborating with the local agricultural cooperative, JA Noto, based in Anamizu, Ishikawa, the team will engage in essential tasks such as rice planting, mowing, and maintaining irrigation systems. In addition to assisting with farming, staff will participate in salon activities aimed at providing psychological support to victims.
Schedule and Activities
The deployment will begin on April 23 and continue until October 3, with a total of seven trips planned throughout the season. Each trip will involve teams of two to ten members, who will devote two nights and three days to support regional agricultural operations primarily centered around Noto Town and Suzu City. The planned tasks include:
