CMEF 2025: Driving Global Synergies in the Healthcare Ecosystem

Guangzhou, China - From September 26 to 29, 2025, the 92nd China International Medical Equipment Fair (CMEF 2025) took place at the Canton Fair Complex. This major event, organized by Reed Sinopharm Exhibitions, transformed nearly 160,000 square meters into an international trade hub, showcasing innovations from over 3,000 exhibitors across 20 countries. Approximately 120,000 professionals from over 160 nations had the opportunity to explore more than 10,000 new healthcare products.

CMEF has firmly established itself as a critical platform over the past four decades, facilitating product launches, technology exchanges, procurement, academic collaboration, and brand building. The exhibition covered 28 different thematic areas, including medical imaging, in-vitro diagnostics, surgical robotics, and smart healthcare solutions, emphasizing the complete cycle from R&D to application.

Exhibition Highlights

Medical Imaging Zone

One of the standout products was the "Imaging Pulse • Smart Link," which features a domestically manufactured digital SPECT device tailored for cardiology and a large mobile flat-panel C-arm. These advanced imaging technologies garnered significant attention from attendees.

Medical Robotics Zone

The event showcased cutting-edge orthopaedic surgical robots, identified by names such as "Smart Brain," "Smart Eye," and "Smart Hand," along with a navigation system designed for total knee arthroplasties, further capturing the interest of healthcare professionals.

Rehabilitation and Personal Health Zone

Exhibitors introduced innovative solutions, including exoskeletons, brain-machine interface rehabilitation devices, and sleep monitoring systems, allowing visitors to experience these groundbreaking technologies firsthand.

According to Zheng Hairong, director of the National High-Performance Medical Device Innovation Center, "AI and other cutting-edge technologies are fundamentally changing medical devices—from mechanical execution to autonomous cognition and from experience-based to data-driven solutions, marking a shift towards personalized precision medicine. China is emerging as a pivotal center for global innovation in medical equipment."

Broadening Applications for a Healthy Lifestyle

A new feature at CMEF 2025 was the International Healthy Lifestyle Fair (IHL), which included five interactive areas designed to promote health awareness, wellness through sports, nutrition, immersive experiences, and future healthcare technologies. Additional segments of the show focused on medical device design, smart healthcare solutions, emergency rescue, and animal health to foster cross-industry collaboration and ecosystem integration.

Global Collaboration and Thought Leadership

The International Zone welcomed nearly 20 national pavilions, including those from Germany, the USA, South Korea, Japan, the UK, Singapore, Malaysia, Russia, and India. These countries showcased innovative products and inter-regional solutions, highlighting the fair's role as a global networking platform.

Under the theme of "Health, Innovation, Collaboration," CMEF hosted over 60 forums and conferences, including the First Health Promotion Conference, the Cross-Border Access Strategy Conference, and the Global Medical Device Regulations Forum. Discussions centered on AI in healthcare, digital transformation, and hospital quality improvement, providing various insights and forward-thinking strategies.

Matchmaking and Global Engagement

To enhance international collaborations, CMEF further developed its "WeMatch" system to streamline one-on-one meetings between exhibitors and buyers, alongside the "WeTalk Global Stage," which featured policy briefings, industry trend analyses, and presentations of the latest technologies.

The organizers highlighted that exhibitors are keen to use CMEF as a platform to expand into Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and North and South America. "CMEF is a high-quality platform to showcase innovations and drive global dialogue. Our hybrid 'Medicine + Consumer' model is evolving into a global testbed for health technology and public welfare."
