Yasuda Real Estate Collaborates on Major Logistics Development in Singapore
Yasuda Real Estate Co., Ltd., headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo, has announced its participation in a large-scale logistics facility project in Singapore led by the ESR Group, a prominent logistics facility developer and operator in the Asia-Pacific region. This initiative marks Yasuda's first involvement in an overseas logistics business, representing a significant expansion of its international portfolio.
The port of Singapore stands as the world’s second-largest in container handling, following Shanghai, showcasing remarkable efficiency as a logistics hub in Southeast Asia. Currently, the Singaporean government is spearheading development projects at the Tuas Mega Port, set to gradually open by 2040. This ambitious project aims to ultimately double the port's current container handling capacity, solidifying Singapore's status as a cutting-edge hub in global logistics. As a result, there is an anticipated surge in demand for logistics facilities in the country.
The new logistics facility will be strategically developed near both the Tuas and Pasir Panjang ports, the latter being Singapore's largest port. Additionally, it offers excellent connectivity to the Johor-Singapore Causeway, facilitating smooth operations for logistics activities. The facility is set to occupy a land area of 71,630 square meters, featuring a state-of-the-art warehouse building with a total floor area of 143,260 square meters, which includes an automated container depot. Completion is slated for 2027.
Notably, this project is expected to host two anchor tenants: CEVA Logistics, a leading global logistics provider, and the Allied Container Group, a major container transport and yard management operator in Singapore. Their involvement underscores the significance of this facility in the logistics landscape of the region.
