SANY Unveils Autonomous Electric Mining Trucks in South America

On August 12, 2026, SANY Group made a remarkable step into the South American market by shipping its first batch of fully electric autonomous mining trucks, named SKT110Ei. This initiative marks the company’s initial launch of autonomous mining technology in Latin America, showcasing SANY’s commitment to advancing its international capabilities.

The mining industry worldwide is currently grappling with several challenges, including complex operational conditions, transportation safety risks, a shortage of skilled labor, and rising labor costs. SANY’s integrated autonomous driving solution is designed to address these issues by enhancing safety, reducing operational expenses, and improving overall efficiency. Tailored for South American operations, this inclusion features autonomous trucks, road infrastructure, a cloud-based mission management system, and localized operation and maintenance services.

The 100% electric SKT110Ei autonomous mining trucks are engineered to provide high reliability and availability while ensuring low energy consumption. Equipped with SANY's self-developed autonomous driving system, these trucks aim to lower operational costs and augment productivity by minimizing manual interventions.

During the recent 2026 mining summit, SANY also unveiled its first cabless 100% electric mining truck. This innovative model includes a liquid-cooled, dual nozzled charging system that allows for ultra-fast recharging while maintaining the necessary range for mining operations. The truck operates in three modes—site takeover, remote control, and fully autonomous driving—to accommodate a wide array of operational demands.

SANY Intelligent Mining, a subsidiary of SANY International and one of the three publicly listed companies within SANY Group, specializes in intelligent mining technologies. The division works on systems ranging from electronic drive-by-wire chassis to multi-sensor perception and AI-based decision-making, alongside cloud operation management.

As of July 2026, SANY had successfully deployed over 300 autonomous mining trucks, which have collectively traveled more than 13 million kilometers safely while transporting over 41 million cubic meters of earth and rock under highly demanding operational conditions.

Looking forward, SANY intends to continue investing in autonomous mining technologies and collaborate with industry partners globally to enhance the intelligence, safety, efficiency, and sustainability of mining operations. This strategic move is expected to not only improve operational outcomes but also significantly contribute to the global transition towards electric and autonomous vehicles in the heavy industry sector.
