On May 31, 2026, a remarkable opportunity awaits elementary school students in Iwate Prefecture. They will have the chance to participate in the exciting "Iwate PR Ambassador Experience" at the Kioxia Aina in Morioka. This initiative, part of the "Chagu Chagu Iwate PR Project 2026," aims to enhance the communication skills of local children while highlighting the charm of Iwate's businesses.

The event will begin at 11 AM and is expected to attract around 60 students who are eager to learn about their home prefecture. Special guest Yuta Watanabe, a well-known actor and TV personality, will be present to motivate and guide the children as they embark on their ambassador journey. Furthermore, the popular Iwate PR character “Wanko Kyodai” will make a special appearance to encourage the young participants.

What is the Iwate PR Ambassador Experience?


This program is designed for children to discover and articulate the special qualities of Iwate, thereby fostering a sense of pride and communication skill that they'll carry into adulthood. During the event, students will gather at booths set up by local businesses to learn about products and services. From this experience, they will create their very own press releases, using their newfound knowledge to showcase Iwate's highlights.

Event Highlights


  • - Becoming a PR Ambassador: Upon arrival, students will receive a PR ambassador binder and sash, officially making them part of the ambassador team for the day.
  • - Learning About PR: The event's leader, Yusuke Ikeda, a certified press release evangelist, will teach participants the essentials of being a PR ambassador. They will learn to identify exciting aspects of Iwate and communicate effectively about it.
  • - Interactive Booth Exploration: Students will roam through booths from 15 selected local businesses, where they can freely ask questions and gather information about their offerings, such as sweets, traditional crafts, and regional services.
  • - Crafting Press Releases: Using the information gathered, each participant will select their favorite business and craft a press release in a professional format, allowing their excitement and discoveries to shine through.
  • - Showcasing Achievements: After completing their press releases, students will display their work for attendees to see. Each child will receive a certificate of appointment as an Iwate PR ambassador, concluding the day with memorable photographs alongside Wanko Kyodai.

Special Guest: Yuta Watanabe


From 1 PM to 1:50 PM, Yuta Watanabe will join the children as a special guest reporter. Participants can engage with him while exploring the booths, enhancing their experience with his insights about reporting and PR. Known for his friendly demeanor and versatility across various media platforms, Watanabe’s presence promises to inspire the budding ambassadors.
