Pasqua Wines Celebrates Artistic Fusion at Saatchi Gallery

Pasqua Wines, a longstanding historic winery rooted in the Veneto region of Italy, has taken a significant step in intertwining the realms of winemaking and contemporary art. Recently, the winery unveiled a magnificent installation at the Saatchi Gallery in London, reinforcing its commitment to blending creativity with agriculture. The new installation, named Senza Tempo (Timeless), is an impressive tapestry measuring 10 by 3 meters, masterfully created by renowned Veronese artist Adalberto Lonardi.

This spectacular artwork was showcased in the gallery's grand stairway from December 6 to 8, 2024. This exhibit not only marks a pivotal collaboration between Pasqua Wines and the prestigious Saatchi Gallery but also signifies the winery's first joint venture with a significant international arts institution outside of Italy. The timing is particularly poignant as Pasqua Wines nears its centennial anniversary, underscoring its devotion to innovation, creativity, and the arts. Since 2018, the winery has invested over €5.5 million in various art patronage initiatives, showcasing its long-standing dedication to fostering cultural exchanges.

Celebrating Creativity and Innovation

Riccardo Pasqua, CEO of Pasqua Wines, expressed pride in the unveiling of Lonardi's Senza Tempo, stating: “This artwork embodies our unwavering commitment to creativity and innovation—values that are deeply entrenched in our winemaking heritage. As we approach our centenary, this collaboration stands as a meaningful celebration of art, wine, and the enduring importance of community.”

Previously presented during Frieze London at the Italian Embassy, Senza Tempo explores the notion of wine as a temporal object, bridging connections across generations and communities. The artwork utilizes advanced digital printing techniques and intricately hand-embroidered elements to create a vivid representation that harmonizes bold forms with a palindromic poem contributed by Lonardi. The tapestry features layers of chiffon, organza, velvet, and silk, enhanced with gold and silver appliqués, reflecting the rich hues of Pasqua's wines—deep reds, gentle rosés, crisp whites, and lush greens.

Lonardi elaborated on the meaning behind his creation, stating, “I wanted the piece to be seen as an open dialogue exploring the interconnectedness of people, places, and emotions in life. Time, a theme rich with poetic significance, played a central role in this process.”

A Year of Milestones

This partnership marks yet another successful venture for Lonardi, who has gained recognition for his dynamic public-oriented artworks. Earlier in 2024, his projects included Everybody Champions, a collaboration with the Wimbledon Tennis Museum, and Summer Family, a whimsical installation at Battersea Power Station. The partnership between Pasqua Wines and Lonardi first emerged during the Italian wine fair in April, where he presented A Love Letter to Verona, celebrating the shared heritage between the artist and the winery.
