E.W. Scripps Names Tony Lamerato Vice President of Local Media Sales

This strategic appointment will take effect on February 17, 2025, and marks a significant step in enhancing the company’s revenue-generating efforts across its vast network of local television stations.

Lamerato, who has been with Scripps since 2016, previously held the position of Vice President of Sports Revenue and Sponsorships. In that role, he was pivotal in developing and implementing key revenue strategies and sponsorship initiatives for Scripps Sports. His leadership contributed to the successful monetization of sports rights and advertising opportunities within the company’s local sports partnerships, which include collaborations with organizations like the Big Sky Conference and NHL teams such as the Vegas Golden Knights, Florida Panthers, and the Utah Hockey Club.

Before his tenure in the sports revenue sector, he was the Senior Director of Revenue Strategy for Scripps' Local Media division. His extensive background includes being the Director of Sales for the ABC affiliate WXYZ and the independent station WMYD in Detroit. Additionally, he has experience as the local sales manager at Fox Sports Detroit.

Lamerato’s influence within the media landscape extends beyond his corporate responsibilities; he also plays a significant role in the community as the Vice Chairman of the board for Diversified Members Credit Union and holds a position on the board of directors for the Michigan Association of Broadcasters. He boasts an educational background that includes a bachelor’s degree in business administration and sports management from Aquinas College.
