Jinko ESS Successfully Delivers Major Energy Storage System for India’s Renewable Energy Project
Jinko ESS, a prominent international energy storage firm and a division of JinkoSolar Co., Ltd., has successfully supplied a substantial 722 MWh energy storage system to support a major renewable energy initiative in India. This undertaking involves the deployment of 144 units of SunTera G2 liquid-cooling energy storage systems, crucial for integrating high proportions of renewable energy into the grid, ensuring effective deployment of clean energy, maintaining grid stability, and managing peak load demands.
In today’s energy landscape, energy storage solutions are critical infrastructure components for large-scale renewable installations. These systems address the dual challenges of ensuring operational excellence and allowing for flexibility in the grid. The complexity inherent in such large projects often escalates expectations regarding safety, adaptability, execution, and long-term service aligned with specific environmental conditions.
Located in an area characterized by high temperatures, humidity, and significant dust accumulation, the project site posed several challenges. Extreme weather conditions required nothing short of exemplary standards in structural design, thermal control, protective measures, and on-site service provisions. The successful implementation of the 722 MWh system underscores Jinko ESS's adeptness in navigating the demanding environments typical of utility-scale energy storage deployments.
The advanced SunTera G2 system stands out with its innovative liquid-cooling technology, which maintains temperature discrepancies within 2.5°C. This feature enhances operational consistency and overall efficiency while ensuring long-term reliability. The system is engineered to operate effectively even under conditions exceeding 55°C and with up to 99% humidity. Furthermore, an IP55 protection rating along with a comprehensive anti-corrosion design, multilayered safety mechanisms, and intelligent thermal management assure safe and dependable energy storage tailored for expansive renewable projects.
Delivery is just the beginning of the commitment for utility-scale storage projects. To guarantee prolonged operational stability, Jinko ESS provides extensive long-term support that maximizes asset value for customers. Leveraging its integrated strengths across cell technology, packaging, and global project conduits, the company offers comprehensive solutions encompassing system design, product deployment, on-the-ground assistance, and ongoing operational maintenance collaboration.
Jinko ESS has also introduced an AI-powered Energy Management System (EMS) which enhances real-time monitoring capabilities, manages operational status, forecasts loads, and optimizes charge/discharge strategies. These features significantly bolster efficiency in renewable energy consumption and grid response, ultimately amplifying the operational value of customer assets.
Expressing enthusiasm about this project, Anita Li, Vice President of Jinko ESS, stated, "The increasing demands from large-scale renewable energy bases pose unique challenges for energy storage systems. This delivery exemplifies our commitment to providing not just capacity configuration but a comprehensive focus on project safety, dispatch capabilities, and long-term profitability.
