Shanghai Electric Introduces Cutting-Edge Innovations at Carbon Neutrality Expo 2025

Shanghai Electric made a significant impression during the Carbon Neutrality Expo 2025, held in Shanghai from June 5 to 7. This annual event is a showcase for the latest advancements in sustainable technology, emphasizing the global transition towards a zero-carbon economy.

At the expo, the company proudly displayed its pioneering carbon emission measurement platform, which allows contractors in various industries to manage their CO2 emissions efficiently. The highlight of their presentation was the achievement of reducing carbon emissions by over 202 million tons in 2024, certified by Ti Testing Certification Group under ISO 14064-32019 standards.

The theme of the exhibition, “Ecology and Intelligence Shaping the Future,” set the stage for a comprehensive presentation of Shanghai Electric’s eco-friendly innovations across a 720 square meter exhibition space. A central feature of the exhibition was the Zero-Carbon Hub, an interactive installation designed to educate visitors on how green and intelligent technologies can expedite the transformation of traditional industries. The interactive tree structures and advanced digital twin simulations provided panoramic views of Shanghai Electric’s low-emission ecosystem, highlighting significant achievements in carbon reduction within the energy sector.

In addition to showcasing its carbon emission management tools, Shanghai Electric also focused on the role of smart technologies in enhancing transparency and data control throughout the supply chain. By integrating intelligent solutions, the company aims to support the development of sustainable industrial parks and improve CO2 emission management.

Among the range of low-carbon solutions presented, the expo included state-of-the-art gas turbines, photovoltaic and solar thermal energy systems, advanced energy storage solutions, and hydrogen energy applications, all of which signify Shanghai Electric’s commitment to decarbonization in both energy supply and consumption sectors.

Furthermore, the company introduced innovative technologies aimed at fostering the green revolution in industrial equipment. Eco-friendly methanol production systems, industrial drive devices, integrated environmental protection systems, and smart production lines were among the highlighted technologies designed to enhance energy efficiency and cut emissions in the industrial chain. This solidifies Shanghai Electric’s position as a leader in innovation and intelligent design, paving the way for achieving carbon neutrality.

Additionally, during the expo, Shanghai Electric launched an initiative in collaboration with 11 key suppliers and six leading companies to promote a green and low-carbon supply chain. This initiative aims to break down barriers to carbon emission reduction in the industrial supply chain, offering systematic solutions that can substantially impact the industry's environmental footprint.
