OSV Institute for Catholic Innovation Launches CorWorks

In an effort to enhance community services within Catholic parishes, the OSV Institute for Catholic Innovation has recently introduced CorWorks. This initiative aims to assist parishes in identifying urgent needs within their communities and formulating effective responses rooted in the Christian mission.

Fostering Engagement Through CorWorks

CorWorks is built on the fundamental belief that parishes can significantly impact their communities by addressing local challenges. Supported by hands-on training and expert mentoring, parish leaders will be guided in recognizing these pressing needs and developing sustainable solutions. Parishes can pursue various issues, such as hunger, social isolation, housing insecurity, and transportation challenges.

Executive Director of OSV Institute, Jason Deuterman, emphasized the importance of finding unique solutions tailored to individual parish communities. Instead of providing a one-size-fits-all program, CorWorks encourages teams to listen and discern what actions to take, fostering creativity and courage.

Program Overview

The CorWorks initiative offers several benefits to participating parishes:
  • - Hands-on Training: Parish teams will receive extensive training to build the necessary skills for effective community engagement.
  • - Mentorship: Experienced mentors will guide participants throughout their journey, sharing insights and advice on best practices.
  • - Framework for Action: A structured approach will enable parishes to understand local needs thoroughly and devise appropriate responses.
  • - Funding Opportunities: Qualifying teams may apply for seed funding up to $25,000, providing the financial support necessary to implement their ideas.

Parishes interested in joining CorWorks can submit applications starting October 9, 2026, until November 20, 2026. The initiative represents a unique opportunity for communities to come together to support their neighbors effectively.

The Heart of CorWorks

At its core, CorWorks is built upon the Corporal Works of Mercy, encouraging parishes to embody Christ's love through tangible acts of service. Participants are urged to engage closely with the communities they serve. By fostering this connection, they can develop ministries that go beyond mere assistance, creating deep and lasting impacts on the lives of local residents.
