Exploring the Enigmatic Persona of Marie Antoinette at the Aya Style Event

On September 3rd, an exclusive talk event titled "AYA Style" will be held at Yomiuri Otemachi Hall in Tokyo. Part of the Sankei Shimbun's entertainment initiative "Machi★Sowa", the event will feature former top Takarazuka stars Yume Shiro Aya and Ayakaze Sakina. The two will discuss the fascinating life and enduring influence of the iconic French queen, Marie Antoinette, in connection with the upcoming exhibition "Marie Antoinette Style".

The Event Details

The Aya Style event includes two sessions scheduled for 2 PM and 7 PM, where attendees can expect an insightful discussion that not only unravels Antoinette's historical significance but also explores her contributions to fashion and art. The event also promises attendees special perks, including tickets to the "Marie Antoinette Style" exhibition that opens on August 1 and exclusive pamphlets.

This exhibition will showcase some of the valuable collections from the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, featuring opulent dresses, jewelry, and furniture that highlight Antoinette's unique aesthetic and her innovative approach to style during her reign. Yume Shiro Aya, who has previously portrayed Antoinette in the Takarazuka musical "The Rose of Versailles", will share her personal insights into the queen, revealing facets beyond her tragic portrayal as a sovereign who shaped the world of fashion and interior design.

The Interplay of Perspectives

Joining Yume Shiro Aya on stage as a special guest will be Ayakaze Sakina, who played the role of Axel von Fersen, Antoinette’s confidante and love interest. Ayakaze's perspective offers an intriguing juxtaposition as she reflects on the dynamics of Fersen and Antoinette's relationship, exploring the complexities of their 'styles', and both characters’ experiences presented in the Takarazuka production.

This interactive session promises to weave together narratives of their past performances and future endeavors, allowing the two performers to delve deep into not only what they cherished about their Takarazuka journey but also what they aspire to achieve moving forward. With their combined interpretative insights, audiences will witness a dialogue that connects Antoinette's "intentional beauty" to the ongoing evolution of both artists' careers.

An Engaging Moderator

The event will be hosted by Miho Nakai, a seasoned free announcer with a rich background in arts and theater. Her expert insights will facilitate a profound exploration of the performers' creative sensibilities.
