Resona Bank's Adoption of TAILOR WORKS AI, Enhancing Consulting and Sales Support

Resona Bank Enhances Consulting with TAILOR WORKS

On December 10, 2025, Resona Bank announced the full-scale deployment of TAILOR WORKS, an innovative sales and consulting support AI developed by Tailor Works Inc. This implementation aims to systematically advance the efficiency and sophistication of Resona's consulting services for corporate clients, ultimately establishing a model for regional financial institutions engaging in business consulting through AI.

The TAILOR WORKS AI service, provided since October 2024, supports corporate sales and consulting personnel by leveraging AI for comprehensive business research, problem identification, market trend analysis, and proposal development.

Resona Bank has long been committed to promoting business collaboration between large and medium-sized enterprises and startups. Sales professionals currently navigate multiple processes, including investigating existing clients' challenges, researching startup offerings, conceptualizing collaboration ideas, and preparing proposals for business matching. However, accurately identifying clients’ true challenges remains difficult, and understanding the complete range of startup services solely through their websites presents significant challenges. As a result, determining the ideal combinations for collaboration has become burdensome.

Moreover, the generation of collaborative ideas often relies heavily on individual knowledge and experience, leading to proposals that are overly personalized. This structure presents a significant challenge, requiring substantial time and effort from initial information gathering to the proposal stage, ultimately delaying the delivery of value to clients.

To tackle these issues, a proof of concept (PoC) utilizing TAILOR WORKS was implemented in January 2025. The results were staggering, with a 99% reduction in time spent on each proposal, paving the way for the full-scale implementation following tests across multiple departments.

During the PoC phase, Resona primarily employed secondary data for research and proposal tasks. With the official rollout, the bank will now analyze first-hand information, such as interview logs and hearing data from client meetings, through TAILOR WORKS, forming a unique business information database. This will enhance the accuracy and depth of proposals by integrating insights into customer needs more effectively than before.

Future plans include broadening the use of TAILOR WORKS across various specialized departments, aiming to strengthen the overall consulting power and dynamism of the organization.

Background

While large corporations often receive adequate consulting support, regional enterprises frequently face obstacles like cost burden, leading to a concentration of challenges among local financial institutions. The banking industry is transitioning from traditional stock-based business models to providing solutions and consulting services that directly address corporate challenges, reflecting heightened expectations for regional institutions. Yet, there remains a chronic shortage of personnel equipped with business experience, industry knowledge, and challenge identification skills, resulting in a dependency on a select few individuals and insufficient service delivery mechanisms.
