10th Anniversary Symposium of Healthcare AIoT Consortium: Shaping Predictive and Preventive Medicine

10th Anniversary Symposium of Healthcare AIoT Consortium

The Healthcare AIoT Consortium (HIT) is excited to announce the public symposium, "Towards Social Implementation of Proactive Predictive and Preventive Medicine: A Roadmap to a Healthy Society by 2050 with AIoT and Behavioral Change Data", scheduled for May 29, 2026. This event marks the ten-year milestone of HIT and welcomes participants from various sectors including healthcare, insurance, finance, pharmaceuticals, IT, local authorities, and research institutions interested in digital transformation (DX) in healthcare, the use of AI and IoT, personal health records (PHR), behavioral change, and preventive medicine. Attendees can participate in person or through Zoom.

Background of the Event

In Japan, the increasing medical costs and challenges in medical service provision necessitate a shift from a treatment-centered approach to a predictive and preventive healthcare model. This new approach utilizes daily data for risk forecasting to prevent health issues before they arise. Achieving this transition requires the collection of daily data through IoT, risk predictions via AI, smart service design to encourage behavior change, collaboration with digital healthcare infrastructures, and frameworks that build trust in data use by individuals and society.

The Healthcare AIoT Consortium has been developing an industry-crossing organization that aims to create a "healthcare information distribution infrastructure" where individuals can manage and utilize their health, behavior, and environmental data, leading to improved quality of life and behavior change. As part of the 10th-anniversary symposium, we will reflect on our achievements and explore the future of next-generation healthcare utilizing AI, IoT, and behavioral change data, with discussions led by prominent figures from policy, academia, and industry.

Highlights of the Symposium

This symposium will delve into various topics such as the direction of healthcare DX from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the role of InsurTech in promoting behavioral change and incentive design, and the potential for predictive and preventive healthcare through mathematical sciences. A panel discussion will focus on how to implement predictive and preventive healthcare into society from the perspectives of policy, research, industry, and system design. The discussion will not only cover technical introductions but will also explore how to construct tangible healthcare services and data utilization frameworks that are integrated into society.
