Kanin Energy Develops 7 MW Waste Heat to Power Project at Colorado Gas Plant



Kanin Energy has announced an exciting initiative to construct a 7-megawatt waste heat to power (WHP) facility at the Phillips 66 Mewbourn natural gas processing complex, located in Platteville, Colorado. This innovative project aims to harness industrial waste heat and convert it into reliable onsite energy, thus promoting operational resilience and reducing environmental impact.

The proposed waste heat to power system captures excess heat generated from gas compression turbines, transforming it into usable energy for the Phillips 66 facility. By doing so, this initiative is expected to not only decrease long-term electricity costs but also to significantly lower greenhouse gas emissions associated with the plant's operations. Construction for this project is slated to commence later in the year.
