Telkomsel Expands its Hyper 5G Network for the Holiday Season



In an effort to solidify its dominance in the digital telecommunications sector, Telkomsel has announced significant enhancements to its Hyper 5G network across the Greater Jakarta area, also known as Jabodetabek. Partnering with technology leader Huawei, Telkomsel aims to enrich the digital experience of the community during the upcoming Christmas and New Year festivities.

Since its commercial launch in 2021, Telkomsel's Hyper 5G has grown to become the most extensive and advanced network in Indonesia, featuring over 1,400 5G base transceiver stations (BTS) distributed across 56 cities and regions. As the holiday season approaches, Telkomsel anticipates a surge in demand for data services, with projected increases in data traffic reaching as high as 14.8%, amounting to an expected total payload of nearly 1,981 petabytes.

Expanding Connectivity



Telkomsel's Hyper 5G network extension covers critical routes around Jakarta, facilitating greater connectivity from Soekarno-Hatta to Halim Perdanakusuma airports and major business districts like Pondok Indah to the National Monument (Monas). The rollout not only aims at enhancing the connectivity experience during peak festive times but also seeks to lay down a systematic plan for future expansions across prime locations in Indonesia.
