Experience Bold and Spicy: New Chinese-Pasta Dish at Romespa Balboa!

Romespa Balboa Unveils a Flavorsome Delight!

Starting April 6, 2026, until the end of May, Romespa Balboa, a specialty yakisoba restaurant in Toranomon and Kasumigaseki, will present a limited-time special: the "Sichuan-style Mapo Tofu Yakisoba." This dish is set to excite food lovers with its irresistible, spicy flavors.

Romespa Balboa is renowned for its unique approach to yakisoba, showcasing thick spaghetti noodles that have been boiled and then rested overnight before being stir-fried with various robust sauces. This technique, often referred to as “surface spaghetti,” results in a mouthwatering experience characterized by bold flavors and significant portion sizes. This hearty variant of spaghetti differs from traditional Italian pasta, showcasing a fusion of Japanese noodle culture and Western-style cuisine.

The star of this special menu, the Sichuan-style Mapo Tofu Yakisoba, features spaghetti stir-fried with onions and komatsuna, enhancing its flavor profile. Its standout ingredient is the crispy, flavorful thick fried tofu that remains intact during cooking. The dish is enriched with authentic Sichuan doubanjiang, which blends harmoniously with minced meat to create a deeply satisfying spicy richness. To amplify this experience, a topping of homemade Sichuan-style mapo tofu is delicately placed on top, unleashing a cascade of flavors that tantalize the taste buds.

For those craving extra spice, a drizzle of chili oil and a sprinkle of Sichuan pepper powder provide a lingering kick, complementing the chewy texture of the spaghetti perfectly. The juxtaposition of the bold, savory flavors of Chinese cuisine with the aromatic character of yakisoba invites diners to relish every forkful.
