LabConnect Expands Global Laboratory Infrastructure
LabConnect, a prominent provider of technology-focused central laboratory services and functional service provider solutions, has unveiled its newest facility in Wuxi, China. This strategic move comes as clinical trials grow increasingly global and complex, leading sponsors to seek laboratory partners capable of delivering integrated testing, logistics, and data oversight across various regions.
The new Wuxi site complements LabConnect's laboratory capabilities in Australia, enabling the company to support multi-regional clinical trials. This development is expected to assist pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and clinical research organizations in the Asia-Pacific region with their global research initiatives.
Fully integrated into LabConnect’s worldwide infrastructure, the Wuxi facility allows study teams to operate seamlessly across regions, benefiting from unified data, consistent operational oversight, and advanced logistics and sample handling protocols. This expansion has been made possible through collaboration with Teddy Laboratory, which is now part of Frontage Laboratories. By harnessing the local lab expertise of Teddy and combining it with LabConnect’s global central lab services, logistical capabilities, and technology-driven decentralized network model, they aim to enhance their offerings.
Wes Wheeler, the CEO of LabConnect, remarked, "This facility represents LabConnect's ongoing investment in establishing the global services necessary to support current clinical trials and the next generation of clinical research. We take pride in offering capabilities based in China, along with a global service network that supports both multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies entering China and domestic firms expanding into international markets."
The Wuxi facility will provide a comprehensive range of clinical trial services, including customized kit development, advanced sample tracking and logistics, and biobanking services—all designed to meet international regulatory standards.
The inauguration ceremony, held in the Xinwu District of Wuxi, featured a ribbon-cutting event, guided laboratory tours, and presentations showcasing LabConnect's technological approach to central lab services. Leaders from LabConnect, Teddy Laboratory, local officials, and members from the regional clinical research community attended the event.
With the addition of the Wuxi site, LabConnect now operates eight facilities globally, allowing sponsors and Contract Research Organizations (CROs) to leverage a single partner for central laboratory services across studies of varied sizes and geographical complexities.
