UnionPay Launches Global Summer Campaign with Exclusive Travel Offers

UnionPay International has officially kicked off its exciting Global Summer Campaign for 2025, offering unique travel deals designed to elevate the experiences of international travelers. As the peak travel season approaches, UnionPay aims to enhance the journey for cardholders visiting various destinations around the globe. This year, the campaign includes partnerships with over 100,000 merchants in 25 popular locations, facilitating exclusive discounts, favorable exchange rates, and guaranteed cash-back offers through banks.

Zhuang Bei, the Vice President of UnionPay International, emphasized the importance of making good memories during the summer, stating, “We want UnionPay to be part of those memorable experiences! Whether shopping in Paris, dining in Tokyo, or exploring an amusement park in Singapore, our global summer campaign aims to make every experience more affordable, smoother, and memorable.”

The 2025 campaign resonates with the significant resurgence in global travel, as destinations in Asia and Europe are witnessing a notable rise in popularity. Noteworthy increases in bookings have been observed for countries like Japan, South Korea, Italy, France, and the UK. In response to this trend, UnionPay is expanding its global network of merchants, collaborating with retailers located in 35 international airports and 60 premier shopping districts to present exclusive summer privileges for cardholders.

Further enhancing this campaign, UnionPay has partnered with leading duty-free store groups, major department stores, and shopping malls to provide exclusive discounts on internationally renowned brands. Cardholders can enjoy savings at more than 3,500 restaurants, cafes, and local seafood markets, with instant offers available on platforms such as Dianping and Uber Eats.

For families traveling during school vacations, themed offers in collaboration with eight world-renowned attractions have been introduced. Locations such as Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore and the Royal Caribbean's Spectrum of the Seas cruise ship provide UnionPay cardholders with cash rebates or instant discounts when their spending reaches specific thresholds.

Travel-related advantages are also included in the campaign. UnionPay cardholders can avail themselves of exclusive offers when booking flights with international airlines such as Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, Turkish Airlines, and Air China. Additionally, travelers can enjoy UnionPay discounts when recharging their transport cards in Japan and the Hong Kong SAR, or making payments with J-Coin Pay in Japan and ZeroPay in Korea, with discounts reaching up to 10%.

Moreover, UnionPay continues to offer competitive exchange rates to Chinese travelers across more than 30 destinations, which include Southeast Asia, Japan, South Korea, Europe, and the Middle East. This initiative encourages global retail activity by allowing travelers to save significantly during their trips. Cardholders who register via the UnionPay app and meet spending thresholds can access improved rates. Meanwhile, 16 partner banks in mainland China, such as ICBC, ABC, BOC, CCB, and CMB, provide up to 12% cash-back on UnionPay card transactions for cross-border purchases, boosting traffic to international merchants.

For travel within China, over 40 international banks issue UnionPay's SplendorPlus Card, which offers cash-back and exclusive promotions for spending done while visiting China.

As of now, UnionPay is accepted in 183 countries and regions, boasting over 73 million online and offline merchants and 1.7 million ATMs worldwide. This robust presence solidifies UnionPay's position as a preferred solution for cross-border payments. With this summer campaign, UnionPay International is committed to providing value, convenience, and reliability for travelers at every step of their journeys.
