GGL ZWIFT Tournament Kicks Off
The highly anticipated
GGL ZWIFT qualifying round took place on December 19, 2025, organized by the GGL Executive Committee and RATEL Co., Ltd. This eSports tournament uses the popular virtual cycling app
Zwift, inviting players from across the globe to compete in an open format.
Zwift has gained significant recognition in the eSports realm, even featured in the
Olympic Virtual Series (OVS) in 2021, making it a ground-breaking platform for competitive cycling. Participants can freely ride across various courses, join group rides, races, and follow training menus. This essence makes
GGL ZWIFT accessible to all cycling enthusiasts.
The opening qualifying race was set on the
R.G.V. course in France and spanned approximately 25 kilometers. From the start, the competition was fierce as riders fought for position within the main group. The climax of the race included multiple aggressive attacks that kept spectators on the edge of their seats. Notable participants, like
Junsei Honda and
Yurukawa, made early to mid-race breaks that added excitement to the contest.
In the final sprint, it was
10456 who showcased remarkable power and strategic racing, ultimately clinching first place with a time of
33:41. The intense sprint got crowded, but 10456 maintained a cool demeanor, managing to cross the finish line ahead of others.
Despite being a qualifying event that wouldn't affect the main race positions, the showdown offered glimpses of each competitor’s strategy and condition, thus heightening expectations for the main contest scheduled for December 26, 2025.
