Mito Cotton Candy Collaborates with Seiko Museum for New Sweet Delight

Mito Cotton Candy Joins Forces with Seiko Museum

In a delightful intersection of tradition and modernity, Mito Cotton Candy, crafted in Mitoyo City, Kagawa, has teamed up with the Seiko Museum in Ginza. Starting from October 17, 2025, visitors to the museum will be able to purchase an exclusive treat, titled "Enjoy the Time with Cotton Candy." This collaboration promises to offer a unique experience where the flavors of the sweet treat resonate with the history of timekeeping.

What is Mito Cotton Candy?

Mito Cotton Candy is not your ordinary confection. This artisan sweet is made using fruits sourced from the rich, fertile lands of Mitoyo, known for its spectacular varieties. Each piece of this cotton candy captures the pure essence and taste of the fruit, offering an exquisite blend of flavor and texture that appeals to adults as much as children. Employing a special technique developed in collaboration with Kagawa University, the cotton candy incorporates rare sugars, ensuring a one-of-a-kind sweet that is hand-spun by skilled artisans. Moreover, it stands as a sustainable option by utilizing perfectly good fruits that fail to meet standard appearance criteria, thus supporting food waste reduction initiatives.

Seiko Museum in Ginza

The Seiko Museum is an institution deeply rooted in the history of horology. Established in 1981 to commemorate Seiko's 100th anniversary, the museum was relocated to Ginza in 2020. Spanning seven floors, each dedicated to different themes, it showcases the evolution of clocks and watches, along with significant moments in Seiko’s journey. This museum caters to enthusiasts of all ages, providing engaging exhibits that delve into the fascinating world of timekeeping—making it an ideal backdrop for the Mito Cotton Candy collaboration.

A Sweet Collaboration

The new offering, "Enjoy the Time with Cotton Candy," emerges from the synergy between the nostalgic charm of clocks and the fresh, vibrant flavors of Mito Cotton Candy. Available in two signature flavors—"Sanuki Hime Strawberry" and "Setouchi Lemon"—this confection encourages patrons to savor the moment as they experience the delightful melt-in-your-mouth sensation while reflecting on the rich history of time.

Designed to be a memorable souvenir, gift, or simply a treat while exploring the museum, this new cotton candy creation allows everyone—young and old—to indulge in a delicious moment of sweetness. It is priced at 1,300 JPY (including tax) for a 15g serving and has a shelf life of three months from production. Impressively, no common allergens are present in this delightful dessert, making it accessible to a wide audience.
