A Memorable Day at Urawa Reds Heartful Soccer Class
In late July 2026, the Kizuna Welfare Society organized a special day for 5-year-old classes at three of its nursery schools in Saitama City, participating in the Urawa Reds Diamonds Heartful Kids Soccer Class at Reds Land. This event was more than just a soccer clinic; it was a celebration of friendship, teamwork, and personal development through sports.
Arrival at Reds Land
The children from the Oji Kizuna Nursery and Ukima Kizuna Kindergarten made their way to the soccer field using public transportation like trains and buses. This journey itself served as a valuable experience—chatting with friends and practicing manners while navigating public spaces. Upon arriving at Reds Land, excitement buzzed in the air as the children anticipated the fun activities ahead.
Embracing the Joy of Soccer
Once the class kicked off, the children actively participated in various exercises on the expansive pitch, including running, dribbling, and other ball handling skills. The playful atmosphere was infectious, and the kids exhibited enthusiasm as they shouted,
“It was hot, but we had so much fun!” and
“I want to do it again!” They eagerly engaged in activities that challenged their coordination and athleticism, all thanks to the guidance from skilled coaches.
The kids from Ukima Kizuna Kindergarten practiced throwing the ball high, spinning to catch it, and delighting in every moment. Meanwhile, Oji Kizuna Kindergarten implemented strategies to keep cool but still maximized their time chasing the ball and becoming friends with their new soccer companion—the ball!
Mini-Games Foster Team Spirit
Towards the end of the session, the coaches organized a miniature match with kids divided into the “Mikan Team” (Mandarin Team) and “Melon Team.” Here, the children recalled the skills they practiced and enthusiastically chased after the ball, with shouts of encouragement and strategic teamwork floating in the air. This not only cultivated sportsmanship but also taught the kids the importance of collaboration, regardless of winning or losing—highlighting the joy of working together towards a common goal.
More Than Just Soccer
This event also facilitated bonding among children who typically meet at separate schools. After the soccer class, they moved to Tajima Kizuna Kindergarten for shared lunch and a post-meal movie screening. These group activities allowed children to interact in ways unique to their shared experience, helping them form new friendships and connections within the Kizuna community.
The laughter and excitement shared over lunch showcased the power of diversity and togetherness, making them feel right at home with their peers from different locations.
Learning Through Experience
The Heartful Kids Soccer Class was not solely about learning soccer techniques. It provided an enriching environment where children could engage in physical activities with professional coaches, challenge themselves with new concepts, and enjoy meaningful interactions with peers in an unfamiliar setting.
Every moment contributed to growing their spirit of
“I want to try this” and
“I can do it.” Kizuna Welfare Society is committed to offering children opportunities to engage with various experiences and individuals, fostering their holistic development in both mind and body.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Urawa Reds Diamonds Heartful Kids Soccer Class for making this wonderful experience possible for our children. As we wrap up the day with a commemorative group photo, these cherished memories will stay in our hearts for years to come!
