The Min-Saga Project: A Collaborative Adventure Begins
Saga Prefecture, in collaboration with Square Enix's beloved "Saga" series, is set to launch a new project titled the
Min-Saga Project, starting April 1, 2026. This initiative aims to create a distinctive manhole cover that will not only honor the franchise but also engage fans in its design and execution through government crowdfunding. The official application site will be unveiled around 10 AM on the same day at the Romancing Saga攻略wiki and the official X account.
Expanding the Map of Adventure Together
Since its inception, the
Romancing Saga project, which currently features various installations such as manhole covers, ceramic tiles, post boxes, and transport options throughout Saga, has transformed the city itself into a stage for fans. The manholes, especially, have become iconic landmarks for those visiting Saga. With Min-Saga, the aim is to collaboratively create a new manhole cover that embodies the love for Saga Prefecture and the "Saga" series, inviting contributions from fans across the nation.
Every Vote Shapes Future Landscapes
In this project, the characters that will adorn the new manhole cover will be chosen through a voting system powered by contributions from fans. Participants can vote for one character from a selection of
60 options sourced from the "Saga" series, excluding those previously featured on existing manhole covers.
Voting Process
To cast a vote, supporters will select their preferred character via a survey form linked to their donation. No matter the amount of the contribution, each donation will allow one vote.
Crafting a Unique, High-Quality Manhole Cover
The manhole covers will be produced by
Hinode Water Supply Equipment Co., Ltd., based in Miyaki Town, Saga Prefecture, using cutting-edge Japanese casting technology. The design will feature the text "Saga Prefectural Office" artistically rendered by local calligrapher
Shiori Ejima.
Exclusive Items for Supporters
As a token of appreciation for supporters, exclusive original merchandise will be available. These items, showcasing the visual design of the Romancing Saga manhole, will be unique and cannot be found elsewhere, including:
- - ¥10,000 donation: Romancing Saga Manhole Sticker

A Message from the Organizers
The Romancing Saga manhole cover symbolizes adventure's enduring legacy. Just as players gather allies to save worlds in the game, the strength of collective effort will shape new scenes in Saga. Decades from now, the shining manhole before you will stand testament to our shared passions in this unique time. GCF leverages local taxes for crowdfunding projects, allowing contributions to local municipalities which may be tax-deductible. Note that giving to the jurisdiction of your resident address means that you cannot receive rewards.
