This year marks the third edition of the MOTHER LAKE RALLY, an exciting event exclusively designed for women motorcycle riders. Set against the stunning backdrop of Lake Biwa in Shiga Prefecture, the 2025 rally will take place over two exhilarating days, from October 18 (Saturday) to October 19 (Sunday).

What is MOTHER LAKE RALLY?


The MOTHER LAKE RALLY is not merely a race; it’s a unique touring experience where female riders can discover the joy of biking while exploring the scenic beauty of Lake Biwa. Instead of competing for speed or distance, participants utilize a dedicated app to navigate to fascinating spots around the lake, fostering connections with local communities and fellow riders along the way. This event encourages female motorcyclists of all ages and skill levels to partake freely, embracing the adventure of biking while appreciating the rich natural and cultural environment surrounding Lake Biwa.

Event Details


1. Dates: 2025年10月18日(土)~10月19日(日)
- Please note that the 19th will feature morning events only.
2. Venue: Hoko THG Twin Arena
3. Capacity: 1,000 motorcycles (Registration will close once filled)
4. Participation Categories:
- Solo Class (1 rider per vehicle)
- Tandem Class (2 riders per vehicle)

Schedule


Day 1: October 18 (Saturday)


  • - 00:00: Start using the app from any location.
  • - 08:00: Venue opens and participant registration begins at Hoko THG Twin Arena.
  • - 09:00: Opening ceremony, featuring mini-tours led by Kazama and Shinnosuke Kazama.
  • - 12:00: Opening remarks and welcome address, followed by a women's motorcycle maintenance workshop, guest talks, and a special performance by Takako Shirai.
  • - 16:00: Closing of Day 1.

Day 2: October 19 (Sunday)


  • - 09:00: Venue opens and participant registration begins again.
  • - 09:30: Welcome address with a police motorcycle demonstration.
  • - 11:00: Parade ride begins, finishing at 11:30 with a group photo session at noon.

Participation Requirements


1. Participants:
- Must be women with a valid motorcycle license; companions of tandem riders do not require a license. Male riders can only join if accompanied by a child under elementary school age.
- Must possess a smartphone or tablet with GPS capability to use the app.
- Adherence to traffic laws and safety measures is mandatory.
- For minors, parental or guardian consent is required.
- Participants must comply with the signed agreements set by the Japan Riders Forum.

2. Vehicles:
- Must be officially registered motorcycles with valid inspections or motorized bicycles with liability insurance.
- No modifications violating sound regulations or unapproved alterations are permitted.

Registration Information


1. Capacity: 1,000 motorcycles
2. Registration Period:
- Opens: July 18, 2025 (17:00)
- Closes: August 31, 2025 (23:59)
3. Participation Fees:
- Solo Class: 6,000 JPY (tax included)
- Tandem Class: 11,000 JPY (tax included)
- A part of the fees will be donated to local environmental conservation efforts.

4. Included in Participation Fee:
- Race number sticker
- Participation prize
- Completion stickers
- Data management costs

Essential Rules and Completion Criteria


  • - To successfully complete the rally, participants must visit designated waypoints and earn points using the app. A minimum of 5 points is required for completion, with higher rewards for additional points.
  • - Racing numbers must be affixed on the front of participating vehicles clearly for identification.

Special Events and Awards


On October 19, a traffic safety parade in conjunction with local police will be held, with registration details provided on the official website. Participation encourages showcasing individual experiences through photography with the event hashtag on Instagram, fostering community recognition.
