Special Event: Rakugo & Talk "Jigoku De Rakugo"
YUGEN Gallery in Minato, Tokyo, is set to host a unique event on October 11, 2025, as part of the solo exhibition "Kawaii Jigoku" by renowned manga artist Shiriagari Kotobuki. This special evening will feature a captivating Rakugo performance by the rising star Takashi Sunshi, and a dialogue with Kotobuki himself.

Shiriagari Kotobuki is known for his diverse artistic expressions, spanning over 40 years in the manga industry, film, and various art forms. His accolades include the Grand Prize at the 15th Agency for Cultural Affairs Media Arts Festival for his work "Ano Hi Kara no Manga" and creations like "Mayo Naka no Yaji-san Kita-san" and "Chikyuu Bouei Ka no Hitobito." For this exhibition, Kotobuki delves into the exploration of hell, creatively depicting the concept of “Kawaii” (cute) hell through large paper installations featuring demons and yokai, transforming the gallery into a realm of whimsical horror.
Event Details
The event, titled "Rakugo & Talk: Jigoku De Rakugo," is scheduled for October 11, starting at 15:00. The program includes a 30-minute Rakugo performance with stories related to hell, followed by a special talk session between Kotobuki and Sunshi. Participants will be able to immerse themselves in the blend of traditional storytelling and contemporary art, providing a unique perspective on the theme of cute hell.
