Hensel Phelps Breaks Ground on New Headquarters
On September 30, 2026, Hensel Phelps commenced construction on its brand-new corporate headquarters in Loveland, Colorado. This significant milestone not only represents a strategic investment in the company's future but also shows a commitment to its employees and the community.
The groundbreaking ceremony was a moment of celebration, attended by Hensel Phelps leaders, community stakeholders, and project partners. The new facility will stand as a four-story, 143,000-square-foot structure located within Avenue South at Centerra, a mixed-use development strategically positioned near the intersection of Interstate 25 and U.S. Highway 34. With plans crafted by Gensler, the headquarters is designed to accommodate the company's long-term growth and operational needs.
Brad Jeanneret, President and CEO of Hensel Phelps, emphasized the importance of this occasion, noting, "As we approach our 90th anniversary in 2027, this groundbreaking marks an important moment in Hensel Phelps' history. Our new headquarters will bring our people together in an environment designed for collaboration, innovation, and well-being."
The design of the Hensel Phelps Headquarters (HPHQ) aims to create an open and welcoming work environment from the very first step inside. Featuring a central atrium to let in natural light, the building’s layout encourages engagement between floors, fostering a sense of community among employees. Elements like mass timber add character and warmth, making the space inviting and visually appealing.
In addition to standard workspaces, HPHQ will include training and collaboration areas, as well as ground-floor retail options for employees and the surrounding community. The design not only prioritizes employee productivity and wellness, but also aligns with sustainability goals, seeking LEED v5 Gold and WELL Platinum certifications.
Jonas Philipsen, principal and design director at Gensler's Denver office, remarked, "Our design for HPHQ reflects Hensel Phelps' legacy as a builder and its forward-looking vision for the future. The building brings together sustainable materials, flexible workplace strategies, and a strong connection to Colorado's landscape."
Currently, construction is progressing on schedule, with completion plans set to elevate Hensel Phelps' operational capabilities for years to come. The new headquarters is not only a testament to the company’s growth but also symbolizes its deep-rooted commitment to Northern Colorado. Hensel Phelps looks to use this facility as a platform for continued development in the construction industry.
