The gripping plot follows a man who, after being swindled by a real estate loan company, takes the company's executives hostage. He creates a dangerous standoff by securing both his own neck and that of the hostage, Dick, to a shotgun using a contraption dubbed ‘Dead Man’s Wire’. The tension escalates as the police are unable to approach, fearing for the lives of both hostages. What begins as a demand for an apology and compensation devolves into chaotic media appearances and public outrage, dividing opinion between those condemning the crime and those expressing sympathy for the criminal.

Gus Van Sant, the magnificent director known for Oscar-winning films like 'Good Will Hunting', 'Milk', and 'Elephant', helms this project, bringing his masterful storytelling to the screen. Portraying the real-life criminal Tony Kirisis is actor Bill Skarsgård, recognized for his role in the 'IT' series.
