U.S. GoldMining Explores High-Grade Potential at Muddy Creek Project in Alaska

U.S. GoldMining Highlights Exploration Potential at Muddy Creek

U.S. GoldMining Inc. (NASDAQ: USGO) is excited to share promising details about the exploration potential at the Muddy Creek mineral system, part of its wholly-owned Whistler Gold-Copper Project located in Alaska. This project has garnered increased attention due to historic high-grade rock grab samples that have shown values as high as 111.50 grams per tonne (g/t) gold.

Project Overview

The Muddy Creek area covers a substantial surface area of approximately 6 kilometers by 4 kilometers, exhibiting a strong intrusion-related gold geochemical signature. This region is strategically situated about 10 miles southwest of the Whistler deposit and 5 miles northwest of the Island Mountain deposit. Previous exploration activities have involved rock grab sampling, soil sampling, and geophysical surveys that indicated the presence of broad low-grade gold mineralization within this rich geological system.

Throughout the exploration efforts, notable reconnaissance sampling resulted in 73 samples returning above 1 g/t Au, with 20 of those exceeding 10 g/t Au. Peak assays from the samples include 111.50 g/t Au from the Upper Phoenix Creek area, 69.13 g/t Au from the Bonanza zone, and 56.6 g/t Au from the central Muddy Creek region. The average value from 285 historic rock samples collected in this area stands at an impressive 3.03 g/t Au, highlighting the valuable potential this system holds.

Exploration and Results

Soil sampling in the area generated significant findings as well, with 104 samples returning results above 0.10 g/t Au, showcasing approximately ten times the background gold levels. Noteworthy results from the central Muddy Creek zone include peak soil values of 5.29 g/t Au and substantial readings of 2.43 g/t Au at Discovery Creek. Historic drilling efforts, while minimal, have confirmed the existence of an intrusion-related gold system, making the need for additional systematic exploration clear, especially regarding the higher-grade areas which remain untested.

Tim Smith, the CEO of U.S. GoldMining, noted the ongoing evaluation of the exploration targets coinciding with their preliminary economic assessment (PEA). Smith emphasized the excitement surrounding the identification of substantial exploration potential across the three mineral systems within the project. The company has ambitious plans to commence phased exploration programs targeting Muddy Creek, which may begin during this summer's field season.

Geological Insights

The geological composition of the Muddy Creek mineral system points to an intrusive complex that dates back to the late Cretaceous era, approximately 65 million years ago. The gold mineralization identified is classified as
